Osupa to thrill football fans June 2 as 3SC faces Abia Warriors in NPFL Matchday 34

Popular Fuji star, Akorede Babatunde Okunola, professionally known as Saheed Osupa, will on Sunday, 2nd June, 2024, thrill football fans at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan. According to the organizers, the event tagged FANFEST is part of activities to entertain soccer fans before and after the NFL Matchday 34 between Shooting Stars and Abia Warriors. The Goldberg and 3SC FANFEST will be a day of non stop fun, with popular Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa along side DJ Big N, CDQ and MC Bash, 3SC media officer, Tosin Omojola, noted in a statement. OAN set for October New York Parade

T he Organization for the Advancement of Nigerians (OAN) and NIDC have announced their readiness for the 2024 edition of the yearly parade. Updated: Erisco tomato paste reviewer, Okoli gets N5m bail

Chioma Okoli was granted N5 million in bail with two sureties in the same amount by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court, Abuja. The allegations against Okoli stemmed from the remarks she made online about tomato paste made by Erisco Foods Limited. Justice Lifu admitted her to bond but stipulated that one of the sureties had to be a blood relative or the defendant's spouse who lived within the court's jurisdiction and had a varied source of income. In addition to directing the defendant to present her foreign passport, if any, the judge also ordered the sureties to deposit passport photos for each of them. Judge Lifu accepted the lawyer's contention that Okoli was charged with a crime that qualified for bail. Pastor (Engineer) Sunday Matthew Adetunji, the father-in-law of the publisher of Parrot Xtra Magazine and Host of Parrot Xtra Ayekooto on Splash 105.5 FM, Olayinka Agboola, is dead. Agboola confirmed the new in a post on his Facebook page, Pastor Adetunji, he said, died at the age of 82. A former managing director and chief executive officer of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), Tinuade Sanda is currently enmeshed in a certificate scandal. Supreme Court gives states 7 days to file defence over LG autonomy suit

Following a lawsuit filed by the Federal Government against them, the 36 state governors of Nigeria have been asked by the Supreme Court of Nigeria to submit their individual defenses. For each of the nation's 774 local governments, the federal government wants complete authority. Additionally, after receiving their defense, the court directed Lateef Fagbemi, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), to file his reply within two days. AGF's appeal for abridgment of time was decided by Justice Garba Lawal, who presided over a seven-member panel and made the order. According to Justice Lawal, the court's ruling was based on the suit's national urgency and the Attorneys General of the Federation's member states' lack of objection. Erisco: Court reminds Chioma Okoli for defamation

Following her arraignment for alleged defamation against Erisco Foods Limited, a Federal High Court in Abuja remanded Chioma Okoli in custody. Hearing the two allegations that were filed against her, Ms. Chioma denied any misconduct Tuesday in front of trial judge Peter Lifu. Under Nigeria's Cybercrime Act, she is facing charges. To make a decision regarding the defendant's bail request, Mr. Lifu postponed the lawsuit to Friday, May 31st. He placed the accused under detention in custody until the outcome of the bail hearing. During the bail request hearing on Tuesday, Inibehe Effiong, the attorney for Ms. Okoli, provided a medical report and contended that his client miscarried due to the psychological distress she had as a result of the case. A prominent politician in Lagos state and former governorship candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in 2025 and 2019, Jimi Agbaje, has lost his son, Bunmi, who is based in Canada. The younger Agbaje, the first child of the politician and his wife, Abiola Agbaje, a post on Cityscoopng said, died of cardiac arrest. Sagamu/Mosinmi road crash kills four, injures four others

An accident near Monsinmi on Sagamu/Ikorodu Road in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State has resulted in the deaths of four people and the injuries of four more. The accident involved two vehicles: a white convoy bus and a Sienna with the license plate LND945EL, according to Florence Okpe, the Public Relations Officer for the Federal Roads Safety Corps in the state. "The suspected causes of the crash were speed and wrongful overtaking which led to rear collision of the two vehicles. A former Labour Minister and Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria, Sulaiman Ajibola Afonja, is dead.
