"Can't Be Intimidated"-President Goodluck Jonathan. .As He Bounces Back In The Fresh Opinion Poll

"PDP Can't Be Intimidated"-Jonathan.
.As He Bounces Back In Fresh Opinion Poll.
While addressing participants at a one-day workshop and strategic meeting for members of the PDP Ward Volunteers Scheme at the Villa yesterday, President Goodluck Jonathan assured that the Peoples Democratic Party cannot be intimidate by any party. He based this on the fact that the party has performed wonderfully well in the last sixteen years. Especially his administration which he said has opened up the various sectors of the economy and enabling more Nigerians to be involved in the economy of the country.
In his words,“On behalf of all of us who are contesting, I thank you because when you market the party, you are marketing the candidates. You are doing well for our party.
“PDP is not just the largest party in Nigeria, but it is the only party that has members at all voting units. There is no other party whether two, three four, five parties coming together, they cannot reach that level. PDP has members in every voting unit in this country.
Meanwhile, Mr. President whose ranking was very low in the conducted opinion poll before now has bounced back to close the margin between him and the All Progressive Congress (APC), general Muhammadu Buhari. According to the official report from March 1 opinion polls,Buhari is nowleading with 51% and the PDP candidate, Jonathan coming strong with 49%.
The poll, which was carried out by seasoned journalists and members of the Association of Online Media Practitioners  asked many people who they would vote for between President Jonathan and Gen. Buhari. It turned out that President Jonathan is gaining more in the estimation of people and there is confidence amongst those spoken to that he has the capacity to qu

"Stop Standing As Stumbing Block To Our Prayers"- Akinfenwa Blasts Politicians.

’’Stop Standing As Obstacle To Our Prayers’’.
Bishop Of Ibadan Diocese, Church Of Nig. (Anglican Communion), Most Revd. Akinfenwa Blasts Politicians.
Most Reverend (Dr.) Joseph O. Akinfenwa, the Archbishop of Ibadan Diocese, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), is one of the most revered men of God in the country. He is known to be an upright and highly principled man of God. In fact, those close to him will surely testify to the fact that Bishop Akinfenwa is one of the few men of God that say things as they are, without giving a hoot about whose ox is gored. He is a blunt preacher who is well respected not only in the Christian circle, but also in the government due to his fearless approach to societal issues and state of the nation. These are the values that Bishop Akinfenwarepresents.
So, it was not surprising when at a burial service, recently held at the St. Annes’s Church, Molete, Ibadan, where the man of God lashed out at Nigerian politicians over their ‘might is right’ attitude towards the society and people generally. Rev. Akinfenwa said ‘’even as we celebrate the 54th independence anniversary, if we honestly look at ourselves, we have not seen yet as Nigerian masses. The people on whose behalf the declaration of independence was made are yet, and I say are yet to see the manifestation of that independence fifty-four years ago’’.
He went on to state that ’’we have prayed for our state, we have prayed for Nigeria and our state, but ‘we appeal on this occasion to our political elites to stop standing as obstacles to our prayers’. Politicians are supposed to make the wishes of the masses come true, they are supposed to be representatives of the people, but our pain and painful story is that, we have many people in the high places who just have to make sure that the wishes and desire of the people do not materialise. We have rulers, leaders frustrating the masses in many places, I pray today God will touch your hearts, so that you can do the right thing. And another worrisome dimension is that, as elections are drawing nearer the messenger of death has become more active again and killings and death associated with politics are on the increase. Many mysterious deaths probably backed by diabolic means. The battle for political powers is fought creating sorrow in many families. Therefore what you see today is that our politicians sit in the safety and comfort of their air-conditioned offices, houses and cars, but they manipulate poor people, to shoot and machete themselves.’’
In the clergyman’s words, ‘’ a terrible circle of attack and more revenge is going on in parts of Nigeria and in the lives of our politicians. Beloved people of God in Christ Jesus, the Bible says’ ‘every soul that sinneth shall die’ and the Bible says again ‘there would normally be judgement for every action or act done.
People have been sent to early graves through acts of omission in our land, people that should live are dying in our

Osun Top Politician, Wole Oke To Battle APC Candidate For Obokun/Oriade Reps Seat

One election that it is believed to be very keen contest in Osun in the coming elections is Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency House of Reps.

Wole Oke, the former honourable representing the zone and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  sets to battle the current honourable, Nathaniel Agunbiade from the All Progressive Party (APC) for the seat.

Political watchers in the state have opined that it will not be a smooth run for the incumbent honourable as Wole Oke is a strong politician to beat in election.

Having served in that capacity and performed remarkably well, Wole Oke stands a bright chance in the race. He is a grass root politician and in tuned with people of his constituency.

His achievement in office as an honourable and Chairman, House Committee on Defence between 2003-2011, were overwhelming according to what we have gathered

He was said to have empowered people from his community at all level. He facilitated Navy Games Village to Esa-Oke and Air force School at Ipetu-Ijesha.

Wole Oke constructed set of classrooms in many public schools. Another political school of thought say Wole Oke is ready to put all in the election to avail him an opportunity of becoming Speaker of House of Reps.

The incumbent honourable on his own is banking on his achievements to get his peoples’ votes.
