I Will Allow For Audit And Publication Of Security Votes-Ayorinde

A governorship candidate under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN) has said that he will allow for audit and publication of Security Votes when he becomes governor. 

Ayorinde gave this assurance while pouring his mind on the issue of money politics, how to run a credible electioneering campaign and his plans to achieve his aim of ruling Oyo State.

"In the next few months, the 2019 General Elections will come upon us. I am running for the exalted office of Governor of Oyo State, the Pace Setter State and our dear State on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (The SDP) YES, the same platform upon which Late Chief MKO Abiola won the Annulled June 12, 1993 Presidential Elections. I am proud to be running on this platform. I am grateful to the members of the party who have found me worthy to run on their ticket. Yes their ticket and mandate.

The Awareness of our candidacy and what we stand for are imperative going into the official campaigns.

In the coming months we shall be faced with challenges that only the Grace of God and the minds, attitude and determination of the good people of our dear State can surmount and overcome.

Already there is talk of the massive war chest to be deployed in this race. I ask the question: why do you need a massive war chest to achieve victory in an election to present yourself for service. Yes the logistics of travels, securing the services of agents and perhaps the funding of media access to propagate your ideas will require adequate funding but not the unholy figures that they talk about.

Therefore I appeal to our leaders of thought, our very well educated elite and opinion leaders, I appeal to our enlightened youths and all that want the best for our dear State to consider all the parameters and weigh the options available. You can lead and influence the masses. Holes dug in spending =N=10 billion to secure an election victory will be filed by such victor in Government with our collective resources. Let us change the narrative over the next few months.

Growing up, one came across the odd beggar or street urchin. Now our towns and villages are filled up with tens of thousands of men and women now popularly called Area boys and girls.

These are young people whose destinies can still be changed for the better. None of us wish this for our children. We should search ourselves whether we want a continuation of a system that encourages servitude of the masses, a system that produces Area boys and girls in tens of thousands. It is going to be very tough. Both the elites and the masses have to break the mentality that cedes power to oppressors and emperors who take over Government with money.

Our Jailors should not be our Heroes and our Captors should not be our role models. We have a responsibility to make a change now on how the resources of our dear State is deployed so that we can emancipate our people. Their freedom from oppression can only make our dear state a better place even for us. Let us not fear that patronages will cease if we take a stand. We all have a greater responsibility to our children, the youth of our dear State and generations unborn.

I will be sharing my ideas on Education, Agriculture, Impactful Infrastructural Development, the Rule of Law, Revenue Generation and Budgeting, the Civil Service, Health care, Housing, Tourism and other segments of Government in the next few days. 

My views are totally in line with the manifesto of the SDP which is premised on Good Governance and Social Justice for all.

I have also looked at some brilliant ideas being suggested and propagated by some other progressive platforms and this conversation must be inclusive in order to take our dear State to the next and desired level.

In doing the above I also welcome ideas on governance on the different segments of Government. I am encouraging this Bi partisan approach so that we can jointly achieve the best.

The Government that I intend to lead will aggregate ideas, agree on policy directives and implement the directives to the satisfaction of all the stakeholders and the masses. I am presenting myself as an Administrator of your resources for the benefit of all. I do not intend to govern as an emperor or all knowing authority. Even the notorious SECURITY VOTE must be audited on a monthly basis and made public.

It forms part of our collective Resources and can not be put in the hands of one person to disburse as he likes. You will have a right to determine whether such expenditure actually comes under the purview of SECURITY once published. It can not be at large as it has been all these years. Please ponder on these and let us do this together. It is possible to collectively enthrone Good Governance and Responsible Government.

You do not need to be a Professional Politician to be part of this REVOLUTION. We will be sharing a link soon where you can identify your Local Governments and Wards. If you have difficulty with specifics, we have a team to help your enquiries. You will get information about our L.G officials and Ward Officials who are already part of our structure all over the State.

You will be able to support your L.Gs and Wards with ideas and direction where needed. Your experience and participation in this process will be invaluable to this collective project.

This applies to all of us who care about our dear State whether we have parental ancestry or we are deeply connected with our dear State. We all have a stake to turn our dear Oyo State around."



Akpabio And The Philosophy Of John F. Kennedy

John F. Kennedy was one American President who never relented in trying to chart an extra-ordinary course that must host America's flag and name in the center of the global world.

He abhorred any attempt by known or unknown forces that might tend to undermine or  relegate America into minority index in whatever perspectives.

In a special message to a Joint Session of Congress on May  25th 1961,  President Kennedy was reported to have spoken about the challenges of taking an American into the moon before the end of the decade. 

The USSR had beaten the US in putting a man into space, when Yuri Gagarin triumphantly circled the globe in April 1961. 

" One small step will enhance several victorious steps for America. We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others too" said J F Kennedy.

Perhaps its not out of place to say that Senator Godswill  Akpabio's quest to move to the  center of national political scene is to win other sustainable benefits to Akwa Ibom State.

" It is not an ordinary defection, far from it. Imagine the numerous people that have moved into the APC since my uncommon defection on August 8,2018. Imagine Chief and Senator Eme Ekaette , Her Honour, Lady Valarie Ebe, former deputy governor, all from Eket Senatorial District and others,  joined my movement. That shows that it is the movement of the people. Yes, you can see that President Buhari was overwhelmed with joy, he opened the doors of Aso villa to welcome my people. For the first time over 50 people from a particular state paid him a visit and he gladly received and  exchanged  right hand of fellowship to each and every one of them" . 

"The president also promised to effect many roads and other people oriented projects for the good people of Akwa Ibom State. Before 2019, thousands of people will join the great movement into APC. This is real movement of the people," said Akpabio.

The senator representing Oyo South in the country's Upper Chamber, Senator Soji Akanbi has written a highly romantic words to honour his wife #Zhikrah Afolake Aduke Akanbi as she added another year to her age today.

Akanbi, who took to his facebook page, wrote as follow:
"You ain't only my wife and the mother of my children, you're my biggest fan and my best friend. I love your determination, your strength, and your grace. And I love you more each day. Happy Birthday my darling Aduke."

Folake and Soji Akanbi are well known to be Romeo and Juliet within the social circle; they are one of the most celebrated couples in Ibadan.

Folake is the C.E.O, LibraGold Travel and Tours while Soji Akanbi is the Chairman of the company. 


"I Will Take Over LAUTECH Within My First 100 Days In Office"-Alao-Akala

Gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala has assured the people of the state of the full ownership of the troubled Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso within the first 100days of his administration.

Otunba Alao-Akala gave this assurance today in a brief chat with Journalists at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja before departing for Ibadan.

The former Governor, who was in Abuja to finalise documentation of his candidature of the Action Democratic Party as it's flagbearer during next year's general elections pursuant of INEC guidelines, said he has the solution to the problems bedevilling the Institution which has been crisis ridden for years.

According to him, LAUTECH is part of my administration's agenda on Education once I assume office as Executive Governor of Oyo state.

Our Policy on education will put an end to the current rip-off the People of Oyo state are currently passing through in the name of all sorts of fees parents are made to part with despite claims of free education policy of the state Government.

If you check our first four years, that is between 2007-2011, education was free from Primary to Secondary school and when I say free, it was totally free.

We made sure Bursary and Scholarship Board was fully functional and effective to cater for the needs of the students across Board.

Our Polytechnic was well funded and same thing for the College of Agriculture at Igboora.

The colleges of education was at its best and we did not starve them of funds.

Don't forget that I'm talking about Seven years ago when the allocation we got then was a far cry from what they are getting now.

I can assure you that the documents for the take over of LAUTECH is ready and within the first 3 months everything will be sorted out.

The institution will be fully owned by Oyo State and I challenge you to take me up on this when the time comes.

Asked on how he intends to fund the institution upon assuming full ownership? Otunba Alao-Akala declared that the IGR currently being generated by the state is enough to fund the education sector  while also declaring that there is a particular fund coming to Oyo State shortly that will cater for that.

I want to categorically tell you that funding LAUTECH is not going to be a big deal as I am not a new comer in matters affecting Oyo State.

I was Governor of Oyo State for four years and I know what comes to the state and how it is being spent to the minutest details till date.

There is a particular fund coming to Oyo state by June next year to the tune of 200Billion naira.

This fund will be used to revive the education sector of Oyo State right from the Primary to Tertiary level.

Backlog of salaries to the tune of 19months being owed lecturers of all our higher Institutions will be cleared at once, decayed Infrastructure will be taken care of and the Oyo State  Education Trust Fund we had then will be revived just like the federal government has its own TETFUND. 

Bulk of this 200Billion naira I'm talking about will be in this trust fund while a particular percentage of our IGR, federal and local government allocation will also be kept in the trust fund to cater for our education sector in the four years I'm going to Governor of Oyo State God willing.
