NTA Reporter, Three Others Kidnapped

The Jos reporter of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, Abdulwab Babankanti alongside three of his friends have been kidnapped on the Bauchi-Jos highway. A family source who confirmed the incident said Babankanti and other victims were abducted on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Toro community while on transit from Bauchi to Jos. "We got to know of their abduction when the kidnappers called to confirm that they kidnapped them" the source told The State of Plateau news portal. He further said the kidnappers are demanding N10m ransom to free the victims.

Media Committee Reacts Over Attack On Makinde In Igangan

The Media Committee of the Governor ‘Seyi Makinde Campaign Council has condemned the attacks on the campaign trail of the governor in Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government, noting that the act of violence was perpetrated by suspected thugs of opposition parties. The Media Committee maintained that the attacks were premeditated and orchestrated by some opposition elements, who hired street urchins to waylay the convoy of the governor, with a view to giving the governor a bad image among the teeming population of Oyo State people. He said that the unprovoked attacks were reprehensible, especially as the people of the state already know Governor Makinde as a man of peace.
