A former managing director and chief executive officer of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), Tinuade Sanda is currently enmeshed in a certificate scandal. Details of the scandal were captured in a report by TheCable. Where it was reported that most of the educational records claimed to have been acquired by Sanda are allegedly false. Sanda was sacked by Eko Disco and West Power and Gas (WPG) Limited within a month. Following a lawsuit filed by the Federal Government against them, the 36 state governors of Nigeria have been asked by the Supreme Court of Nigeria to submit their individual defenses. For each of the nation's 774 local governments, the federal government wants complete authority. Additionally, after receiving their defense, the court directed Lateef Fagbemi, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), to file his reply within two days. AGF's appeal for abridgment of time was decided by Justice Garba Lawal, who presided over a seven-member panel and made the order.
