The big news is that Otunba Layiwola Folorusho Oriowo was recently appointed as Director of Odu'a Investment Company Limited (OICL).

He takes over from Dr. Segun Aina, OFR who has successfully completed his four-year tenure on the board of OICL.

This remarkable achievement was another golden feather to Oriowo's cap, and a testament to his exceptional contributions to the business world, humanity and the society generally.

1. Otunba Lai Oriowo attended Victory High School, ikeja, Lagos for his High School Certificate between 1972 and 1976.

2. He obtained his A Levels Sciences from the School of Basic Studies of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 1977-1979.

3. Oriowo is a graduate of the prestigious Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria where he studied Aeronautical Electronics & Telecoms Engineering (1980-1982).

4. He's an alumnus of Airline Training Institute, San Carlos, California, USA.

5. Oriowo's quest for knowledge has taken him to different parts of the world where he has attended several training including IATA Training and Development Institute, Montreal, Canada, and United Airline Training School, Denver, Colorado, USA.

6. Prior to this new appointment, Oriowo has previously served as an Executive Director at Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), and a Member of the Board of Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria and Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCOL).

7. He's an accomplished Aviation professional of over three decades.

8. Otunba Lai Oriowo is the Chairman, Wallis Construction Limited, and currently the Chairman of Chanelle Microfinance Bank.

9. Apart from Aviation, his other business interests cut across hospitality, banking, and construction. 

10. Not many people know that Otunba Lai Oriowo is a politician, and one of the founding fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State.

11. In 1999, Oriowo contested the Osun East Senatorial District seat but lost to late Senator Mojisola Akinfenwa.

12. Otunba Lai Oriowo was 2003 gubernatorial candidate of the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP) in Osun State. Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola of PDP won the election by defeating the the. ncumbent Governor, Chief Bisi Akande of Alliance for Democracy (AD).
