Osun PDP Condoles With Adagunodo's Family Over Demise of Their Matriarch

The Peoples Democratic Party, Osun State chapter commiserates with the families of the state chairman of the party, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo.

In a release by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Sunday Bisi and made available to news men in Osogbo today, the PDP said "although Mama died at a ripe age of one hundred and seven (107) years, we still feel pained with her exit among us for so many reasons too numerous to mention among which was her passion for children, especially those whose parents are not fiscally buoyant enough to take care of," the statement reads.

Mama Emilia Moradeke Adagunodo, Nee Oriowo from Idoka was married to Prince Olowookere Adagunodo of Ilowa Ijesa about 85 years ago.

Mama was an industrious, great merchant and popular clothing trader in her hay days which earned her the nickname *IYA ALASO* and was well known across the length and breadth of Yoruba land.

Among her children were late Prince Joel Olajoyetan Adagunodo, (the father of the State Chairman, Hon. Soji Adagunodo, Mrs. Felicia Olubunmi Arowojobe, Hon. Justus Bamidele Adagunodo, Mopelola, Maria   Folowosele, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren too numerous to mention.

May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Chairman of the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Adesoji Adagunodo's grandmother is dead.

Mrs Emilia Moradeyo, we gathered, passed on in the early hours of today, at age 107.

Mama, who has been described as a loving, caring, hardworking but highly disciplined, was survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

We Paid May Salary For Oyo Workers To Enjoy Sallah - Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has disclosed that Oyo State workers have gotten May salary  they could prepare for the coming sallah celebration.

The governor who stated this in a statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Chief Bisi Ilaka on Friday, maintained that the action was in consonance with his promise to make life better for the entire workers in the State's service.

"Oyo workers have started getting their banks' alerts so they can prepare for the forthcoming sallah festival. This is in consonance with our campaign promise that we shall do everything at every turn to make workers smile.

"Our administration has come to give relief to the entire workers of the State and apart from prompt payment of salaries, this administration will see to provision of other incentives and workplace requirements to promote efficiency and drive personal and public growth.

"Again we reiterate our commitment to a greater Oyo State and it can only be achieved through an efficient and productive workforce. So we call on labour to reciprocate with the same gesture by giving unalloyed loyalty and dedication to the service of the State," he charged.

The federal government has declared Tuesday 4th of june and Wednesday 5th of june as public holiday for workers in the country to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
