Not only did he turn 72, the Adamawa Emirate Council turbaned him as the Wazirin Adamawa. One of the major attractions at the turbaning was the presence of two former Presidents, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. In his speech, Chief Obasanjo reminisced on his days at the Yola Prison, when he was incarcerated by the General Sani Abacha regime. The former President went on to endorse Alhaji Atiku as he told the Lamido of Adamawa that “Atiku will not disappoint when he becomes President”. He also said during his speech that “Atiku will do his job with dignity, integrity and honour”. In a personal message, the newly turbaned Wazirin Adamawa described the day as one he will never forget in a hurry. “
