Oyo NUJ Chairman, Ademola Babalola Loses Mother

The death of Madam Wulemot Aweni Babalola, the mother of Comrade Ademola Babalola, Chairman of the Oyo Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),  has been announced. She passed away at the age of 76. According to a release signed by Ademola Babalola and shared on his Facebook page, the late Madam Wulemot Aweni Babalola died on Saturday, November 2, 2024.  The deceased will be buried on Sunday (today) by 4:00 pm according to Islamic rites, at the family house, Olorunsogo-Akanran Road, Palupo Community, Asegun Group of Schools, Asolo B/Stop, Ibadan. She is survived by the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The statement partly read, "Mama was a devout Muslim and respected Otun Iya Adeen of Palupo Muslim Community, Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State. Ex-Oyo North Senator, Gbenga Babalola Speaks On Life After Nigerian Senate

Senator Gbenga Babalola, the former federal lawmaker who represented Oyo North Senatorial District at the Country's Upper Chamber, last week, spoke exclusively on his experience at the Senate 13 years after. According to Babalola, being a first timer at the Senate then wasn't a barrier for him having served and retired from the Ministry of Finance as an Assistant Director. For him, his times at the Senate was also a memorable one as a member of the 6th Assembly from Oyo State under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Babalola, an NBA holder from the United Kingdom and a Doctor of Business Administration from USA, also shared his thoughts on the state of the nation, especially why all arms of government seems incapacitated as regards the present situation of things in the country.
