Altar Of Praise 2018 Holds

The maiden edition of an annual praise festival tagged 'Altar of Praise 2018' is set to hold.

This event, according to the press release issued by the convener of the program Mr. Adedayo Adedeji a.k.a ALADEMEJI, will take place on Friday 9 November, 2018, at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Orita-Iloko, Ilesa, Osun State by 9pm with the theme: 'Sing Praises to the Lord(Psalm 9 vs 11).

Describing praise as a way of acknowledging God's worth, Adedayo added that he  is organising "Altar of Praise" every 9th November to give God Genuine Praise because God commanded every man to praise him.

He further stated that knowing God's words will help you to understand how you can genuinely praise him in truth. He stressed that failure to reflect very well on what God has done and what God is doing make one an ingrate to God's grace.

"We only look at those people who are richer, greater or higher than us but we fail to look at those people who are poorer, lower or lesser than us," Adedayo said.

Adedayo explained that the journey of life is called "Race" but when God is involved in your Race, it becomes "GRACE". Therefore, Praising God means you are not taking God's Grace for granted i.e You are Grateful to God's Grace. 

Adedayo, who is also a presenter on Radio and Television, called on the general public, media houses and gentle men of the press to join him as he is set to host "Altar of Praise 2018" to magnify God's majesty. 

The Special dignitaries to grace the "Altar of Praise 2018" include Dr. Akolade Adekola (O.B.O); Chief (Mrs.) Nike Popoola, CEO Nikky Choice filling station; Hon. Chief L.B Ayeni; Barr. A.O Sokoya; Hon. Olowofoyeku among others.

Gospel artists to minister are Labaster Praise, Olumide Fakunle a.k.a Ayo ni Mofe, Lady Evangelist. Yemisi Funminiyi (SY CREW), Apostle Niyi Peters, Sister Funke Obaleye, Tope Omo Alagbawi, Lady Evangelist. Julie Adeosun, Evangelsit Niyi Fadipe, Tope Ayanfe, Olusegun Adegbile, Queen Bobola Ayodeji, Adedeji Anu Oluwapo and RCCG Jesus Tabernacle Choir.

Also, Pastor BMW and Covenant Dancers will be there live to dance to God Almighty.

Pastor Oladipupo Onibonoje is the host while Apostle King will be the moderator of the event.

Ajimobi Grants Amnesty To 15 Prisoners

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has granted amnesty at differing levels to 15 various offenders currently serving prison sentences at different prisons in the state.

The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Oluseun Abimbola said in Ibadan on Tuesday that 11 convicts will enjoy either outright release,  or reduction in sentence terms, while four persons had their death sentences commuted to life imprisonment.

Abimbola explained that the Governor, in exercise of his powers under section 212 of the 1999 constitution granted the amnesty on the recommendation of the State Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy headed by the Attorney General, as part of the events commemorating the celebration of Nigeria's 58th year independence anniversary.

The Attorney General appreciated the  kind gesture of the governor in granting the amnesty, stating that it is the hope and expectation of the State government that those to be released  would by reason of the good behavior that qualified them for consideration for amnesty, reciprocate with continuing good behaviour as they reintegrate into society.

“We expect them to transform to become upstanding members of society, as they would have learnt useful lessons from their time of incaceration to know that crime does not pay. 

“The exercise of the prerogative of mercy by the governor is a constitutional exercise carefully and responsibly reviewed to ensure the exercise retains its credibility,” Mr. Abimbola added.
