Death has occurred of the President of National Council of Women Societies, NCWS, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau. A report monitored on Newspotng.com confirmed that she passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, 5th June, 2024, after a brief illness. Late Lau, the report said, have been responsible for a number of empowerment programmes that relieved the suffering of many indigent women across the country. A statement from the NCWS noted that her hard work and contributions to the betterment of the society would never be forgotten. According to the society, "Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau was a passionate leader and champion of women's empowerment who will be dearly mourned by all who knew her. "Her hard work and contributions to the welfare of our society will never be forgotten."

DCP Abubakar Mohammed Guri, a deputy commissioner of police, is said to have fallen and passed away. According to sources, the late DCP sagged on his office chair while wearing his uniform. After being taken to the police headquarters' clinic for emergency care, it was determined that he had passed away.
