The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has described the alleged statement made by the Minister of Transportation and Director General of the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organization, Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi on the state of the nation as courageous, just as he urged him to resign his appointment and return to the PDP. The Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has raised alarm on what it called, harassment, intimidation, mass arrest and indefinite detention of its members by the All Progressives Congress with connivance of the men of the Nigerian police ahead of the 2019 general elections. The statement was made available to the press by the state chairman of the party, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo today, in Osogbo, Osun State. According to Adagunodo, "they have begun the operation in Ila Orangun, in Ila local government area of the state." "Reliable information confirmed that they went to the house of a PDP member with  posters of APC and started pasting it and at the same time brought in police who came into the house to make arrest of those who were holding meetings that they were disturbing the people pasting the posters, they took them to the station and locked them up" Adagunodo explained.
