Delegates Affirm Senator Buhari's Nomination As APC Candidate for Oyo North

Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District has won the return ticket into the upper chamber of the National Assembly unopposed. 3599 out of 3997 delegates for the primary election affirmed his nomination at the party senatorial primary held in Iseyin on Tuesday The event which was conducted by representatives of the National body of the party including, by Barrister Ejiro Etaghene, Dr Hassim Adda and Sarah Egye Amiyawa was also supervised by security agencies and members of staff of Independent Electoral commission INEC. The affirmation which was started around 10pm lasted few hours with all the delegates making voice affirmation and declaring total support for Senator Buhari’s return to the senate. Ajimobi Emerges Oyo South APC Candidate

The Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has emerged the All Progressives Congress' candidate for Oyo South Senatorial district ahead of the 2019 general elections. Ajimobi, in the party's primary, scored 2,659 votes to defeat Dr. Fola Akinosun who polled 168 votes.
