The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Demicratic Party in Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has congratulated the people of Oyo State on his adoption by a coalition of political parties in the state.

A statement from his campaign office, signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade said that "leaders of the parties, led by the Osi Olubadan, High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Senator Femi Lanlehin, Barrister Sarafadeen Ali and Chief Bolaji Ayorinde SAN, displayed unsurpassed broadmindedness and political maturity in agreeing to adopt him to face the All Progressives C,ongress  which is the nemesis of our people".

According to the statement, 'the milestone achievement has now paved the way for the PDP to coast home to victory with the support of other patriotic leaders.
The APC will be overwhelmed and drowned in their attempt to rig the election through violence and votes manipulation".

The statement said that "if the APC wishes, it can arrange a camp bed in Ibadan for their Lagos leader, our people will banish them out of our territory".
Seyi Makinde advised the APC to "look for another business center. 'Oyo tate is out of  your stranglehold and out of bounds", he said.

Steer Clear Of Oyo State, APC Warns PDP Leaders

  • The Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has told the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to steer clear of the state, saying that Oyo State funds cannot be used to fund the party (PDP).

APC Publicity Secretary, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde stated that the failure of the PDP to win the presidential election has caused its members to go delusional, noting that the allegation that Governor Ajimobi plans to use fake police and NURTW members to cause unrest is a figment of their puerile imagination and a product of hallucination.

Dr Olatunde said that everyone in this state knows that Ajimobi stands for peace and he will not trade it for anything, stressing that Nigerians cannot forget in a hurry the violent years of PDP and the ruins caused by the party which is gradually being salvaged by the APC administration of President Buhari.

The APC spokesman warned that it would resist the election rigging and voting buying plans of the PDP in the gubernatorial election, stating that it will not allow PDP to turn Oyo State into a macro finance bank.

“We wouldn’t have responded to PDP hallucinatory statements since the people know the party is synonymous with violence, maladministration, financial recklessness and mudslinging. With their rejection by Nigerians in the February 23 election, we assumed that they would have changed their ways.

“But like the saying goes, old habits die hard. The habit of PDP to peddle falsehood is their second nature. Their antics to get to Oyo seat of power will be another futile effort. The electorates know them, they know how they ruined the country’s economy and perpetrated a lot of violence in Oyo State and across the country.

“The peace currently being enjoyed in Oyo State was elusive during the ruling years of PDP. It is only PDP that will lay the foundation of peace and destroy same with its hands. The present administration in the state is people oriented and it has vowed to sustain peace, safety and security that is bringing evident development, growth and progress to Oyo State.”

Face Your Atiku Presidential Campaign Funds Problem – Oyo APC Tells Makinde

  • The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo state has asked the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Mr. Seyi Makinde, to focus on his personal travails and account for the Atiku presidential campaign funds as directed by parties which he wants to form a coalition with, rather than focus on the APC coalition which is a family affair.

The party stated that it is surprised that the PDP candidate is more concerned about the APC coalition which is a settled issue than his own merger, noting that a serious man doesn't leave his personal problems to focus on the perceived challenges of his neighbor.

The APC in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde said that the antics of Seyi Makinde to buy himself to power will fail as the electorates in the state are sophisticated enough to determine what is good and bad for them, stating the emotional appeal of Mr. Makinde is just a way of blackmailing people to get himself to power.

Dr Olatunde further warned the PDP that the vote buying it perpetrated in the last election  won't be allowed, adding that "we are in charge of our affairs, don't be concerned about our issue at the detriment of your impending failure at the polls, give your partners the breakdown of monies given to you as demanded. Don't use us to cover up your issues and financial impropriety.

He stated that the voting buying mechanism of the PDP to return to power at all cost failed with the declaration of President Buhari as the winner of the February 23 election, explaining that the people’s faith in the administration of PMB and PYO will start manifesting in due course.

The APC spokesman stated that the PDP pushed the country to the brim of losing her identity in the comity of nations with their corrupt practices and maladministration, adding that President Buhari led APC government has started restoring the lost glory of the country.

Dr Olatunde said, “in a sane society, PDP should not be seen contesting any election in this political dispensation considering the level of decadence they put the country. The party destroyed all sectors of governance and celebrated corruption and maladministration as way of life.

“No wonder, one of the close associates of the PDP candidate in Oyo State, Mr. Makinde was heard boasting of how they intend to buy themselves to power. The Aide boasted that some traditional rulers, Ibadan elders, community, religious and youth leaders among others in the state on Makinde’s payroll and they will influence the election in his favor.

“It is so good that Makinde has displayed his level of intelligence during the governorship debates and people know how he fared. We urge Oyo State people to be wary of his antics of vote buying, voters’ inducement and rigging,” Dr Olatunde added.

"He is hell-bent on fiostering an unpopular candidate on the people of Oyo state. He was jolted by the defeat he suffered in the last election and wanted to safe his face in the gubernatorial election. We won't allow anything short of free and fair election in Oyo state. We urge the police and DSS to be alive to their responsibility and stop the plan of outgoing Oyo governor in other to prevent the people resorting to self help."
