The billionaire and Austrian businessman Richard Lugner passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2025. He was 91. The news of his death came two months after marrying Simone Reilander, his 42-year-old sixth wife. The couple exchanged vows in Vienna City Hall on Sunday, June 1. According to local accounts, he declared that their relationship will be their last marriage. The former governor of Oyo state and th  Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, was on Monday (August 4, 2024) coronated as a beaded-crown Oba of Ibadanland. Ladoja's official coronation which took place at the newly commissioned Oke-Are palace of Olubadan was presided by HIM Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Olubadan of Ibadanland. At the historic event were top dignitaries including Barr. Bayo Lawal, the deputy governor of the State, who presented the staff and instrument of office to Ladoja on behalf of his boss, Governor Seyi Makinde. The event also has in attendance a host of Ibadan Obas, Senior Chief and Baales, among others. The coronation has put to an end the prolonged controversy trailing the Ibadan Chieftaincy Declaration review. The Redeemed Christian Church of God's new pastor of the City of David Parish in Lagos is Pastor Kayode Pitan. He will take over for Pastor Charles Kpandei, who has been acting as the interim pastor since Pastor Idowu Iluyomade was suspended in June.
