The wife of the Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi has said that the current hardship in the country would soon pass, saying that every individual should remain steadfast, have faith and imbibe the virtues of satisfaction and contentment in order to cope with the situation.
Mrs. Ajimobi stated this at the weekend during her Ajumose Food Bank initiative where over 9,000 individuals from Ona-Ara, Oluyole, Akinyele, EgbedaA, Lagelu, Ido and Ibarapa East Local Government areas of the state benefited.
According to her, “the present situation is very unfortunate, the harsh economy is difficult to bear but I can assure you that our leaders are working round the clock to ameliorate our sufferings. Let us continue to pray and believe and I am optimistic that God will answer our prayers and the country will be right back on track”.
Mrs Ajimobi reiterated the state government's commitment to helping its citizens weather the storm of the economic recession and support them by providing food items on quarterly basis in order to alleviate the sufferings in the state.
She urged fellow women to monitor their children’s activities and cater for all their needs so as not to be lured into societal ills, adding that, they (children) should also be discouraged from late night crawling to protect them from armed robbers and kidnappers.
While stressing the importance of security and peace in the state, Mrs. Ajimobi urged the people to be grateful to God and Governor Ajimobi, whose will-power to purge the state of every outlaw and night marauders brought unprecedented peace to the state.
The Ajumose Food Bank marked its third outing and the 18th Local Government visitation since the re-launch of the Food Bank initiative and food items such as rice, garri, semolina amongst others were distributed to the beneficiaries.
Speaking, wives of the Local Government Caretaker Chairmen visited expressed their appreciation to the Oyo State government and Mrs. Ajimobi for the gesture to the people in their local government and consequently pledged their support to the governor Abiola Ajimobi-led administration in achieving all its set goals.
