The name Glorious Paul is a strong one in the Yoruba gospel sector of the Nigerian music industry, also with his relationship with popular late Lagos Pastor, Prophet Elijah Iretiola Ajanaku, the founder of Christ Revival Victory International Church (CRVIC) makes him an household name in the entertainment industry.
He recently had a brief chat with City People where he spoke about how he started music. In his words, “I started music roughly 22 years ago. I started as a Fuji artist and back then my mom would discourage me from doing Fuji because Fuji music was termed and affiliated with bad acts.
She told me that if I go into Fuji she would stop my education so I decided to drop Fuji for a while and face my education. Glory be to God, I heard God’s voice and he told me he gave me a gift and I wasn’t using it to glorify him. I woke up from my sleep and headed for my Pastor. He told me I would face a lot of difficulties but with God all things are possible. Ever since then, it’s been gospel."
Glorious Paul further stated that "the journey so far hasn’t been easy but glory be to God". He pointed out that as a gospel musician he has faced a lot of challenges. He has seen a lot of things that almost made him quit music but he didn’t lose his focus. An excited Paul spoke about his forthcoming 3rd album launch. He said “Come October 11th I would be launching my album. My first album was called “Eni femi” and that was 4 years ago. The 2nd was 2 years ago and I titled it “Igbesoke”. The 3rd which is the latest is called “Jesu feranmi”.”
On who got featured on his latest album? “On one of the track in the new album, I did a love song and featured fellow gospel act, Princess Ifemide. She is the daughter of Prophet Elijah Ireti Ajanaku.” Paul looks up to genuine and true gospel artistes who wouldn’t bulge to the sweet things of the world and its sinful ways. He also made it known that he is a free person and remains friend with a lot of musicians.
