"I Didn't Make Mega Bucks From Akala's Government As Alleged" - Jogor Boss, Femi Babalola

The CEO of Jogor Event Centre and Jogor Hotel Ibadan, Engr. Femi Babalola has cleared the air on the claims that he made his mega bucks as a contractor during the regime of the late former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala.

Jogor, as the businessman is popularly known, made the clarifications on Sunday during an interactive session with some journalists, including Trendscopenews publisher.

Recall that Babalola, alongside Akala and a former commissioner in the state, Hosea Agboola, was probed but later discharged and acquitted of an alleged N11.5 billion fraud.

He, however, said that his companies executed only 3 projects of about #150 million in the whole of Akala's regime.

He said, "I always laugh when people say Akala regime this, Akala regime that. The whole of Akala regime my companies did maximum of 3 projects. I can say it with all authority that all the money that came to us wasn't up to #100 million or #150 million. It was so bad that when Ajimobi was probing Akala's regime two people pointed at me, saying but why was your noise so much? And we were so interested in Jogor that everything must be around you. But we find out that you didn't even enjoy the government. We saw people doing multi billion projects and we didn't even hear anything about them. I said it's because I'm a party man. If I do a small thing this I will cry to the whole world to see the achievements of government. All other people would do and keep quiet. They wouldn't want people to know anything."

When asked if Akala had any impact in his life whether political or business wise. Babalola said though he gained a lot from Akala in terms of knowledge and wisdom but that it was never about monetary gain.

"As the governor I gained a lot from his wisdom. He was a man with a lot of local knowledge and local wisdom. So sitting with him for 30 minutes you could pick lots of lessons of life. I picked that a lot from him, and that has been helping me a great deal. But in terns of monetary gain, it's not about monetary gain. But spending time with him, having insights into life, yes, I gained a lot from him. He stated.

Not only has Makinde's administration created an enabling environment, it has introduced some investors-friendly policies, and as well undertook partnerships that had really helped in bringing about the unprecedented developments in the sector. This has also created room for options for those who are interested in both luxury and low cost estates. Its also explains reasons for the many real estate projects (both completed and ongoing) all over the place. There are developments and construction almost everywhere in Ib
