Akeredolu's Aide Reacts To Customized Whisky Production Allegation

Mr. Wande Ojo, the Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu on Media & Publicity, has denied a video going viral on social media which implied that his principal had ordered customised Blue Label whisky for his second term campaign.

In the said video, the Ondo State logo, as well as Governor Akeredolu's alias (Aketi) were seen inscribed on some bottles of Blue Label (Johnnie Walker) brand of whisky on display.

Wande Ojo has however described the video as the latest move, after many failed attempts, of some people to blackmail Akeredolu. Saying that such news should be ignored in its entirety.

"For the avoidance of doubt, Mr Governor does not require to produce customized drinks of that nature for his re-election. Neither has he commissioned any associate, friend or even aides to embark on such wasteful venture. This is more so, that Governor Akeredolu's modest and non-ostentatious life style has never been in doubt."

The purported customised Aketi Whisky, according to Wande Ojo, is believed to have emanated from platform known as Idanre Hills Reporters.
Mr. Wande Ojo also posited that those behind this grand plot, according to him, are desperate power mongers who will stop at nothing to create despicable and imaginary scenarios to play their game. "

Clearly, the motive is to create the impression that so much of State money has been spent to produce the Whisky. Aside this already deflated plot, many more are expected from these political scavengers on an impossible mission."

Mr. Governor, having been briefed of this devious act, has taken steps to unravel those behind it through lawful means." Governor Akeredolu has consistently been in the news in the last few days now.

The other time, he was allegedly instructed the Commissioner of Police in the state to block his Deputy from going out of the Government House. The Commissioner of Police, in a well circulated video, was seen telling the Deputy Governor that his was based on a report he got that Mr. Deputy was going to decamp to another party the next day.
Though Akeredolu later came out to deny his involvement, but the action was widely condemned. The Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi has since decamped to PDP, where he would contest in the party's primaries ahead of the October 10, 2020 guber elections.

Just as the dust raised by this incident was settling down, news broke again some days ago that Governor Akeredolu is being tested positive for coronavirus. He was seen in a video sneezing at a rally without face mask the day before his COVID-19 result came out.

On Thursday 2 July, 2020, the governor also lost his commissioner for health, Wahab Adegbenro to the deadly coronavirus. Akeredolu has since proceeded on isolation while he attends to his health, but refused to handover to his Deputy. Which is also generating a lot of controversy.

The Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi has given Akeredolu an ultimatum of 21 days to handover to him or face the law.

The real estate sector in Oyo State, especially Ibadan, the capital city, is currently experiencing what could best be described as a mega boom. Thanks to the few investors who saw the vision years back and keyed into it by contributing their quotas to the development of the sector. Its also explains reasons for the many real estate projects (both completed and ongoing) all over the place. There are developments and construction almost everywhere in Ib
