Titi Atiku Abubakar, wife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s Presidential candidate and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has visited an Ex-Gov of Oyo State and the governorship candidate of ADP, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, to rally support for her husband in the coming election.
The meeting, according to a statement signed by to Chairman, Media & Publicity Committee, Akala Campaign Organisation, Barr A.B Ojo, held at Akala's Bodija residence in Ibadan.
"His Excellency Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala today received in audience, wife of former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of People's Democratic Party (PDP) Hajia Titi Abubakar at his Awosika, Bodija Residence in Ibadan.
The visit according to Hajia Titi Abubakar is in continuation of her nationwide consultation with Leaders of thought, opinion moulders and top politicians across all political divides (religious, political and traditional).
Hajia Abubakar stated further that Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala being a major stakeholder and a force to reckon with in the political calculation of the south-west and Nigeria at large, it behoves on her as a daughter of the land to inform the elders of her place of birth of the political ambition of her husband who is also a son of the soil by extension of marriage and having spent the better part of his early life in the southwest part of the country and seek their support in ensuring Alhaji Atiku Abubakar's victory at the forthcoming polls.
Welcoming the guest to Ibadan, the political headquarters of the southwest, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala appreciated the efforts of Hajia Titi Abubakar for standing by her husband and for taking up the gauntlet of toiling for the success of her husband, an action he described as that of a charismatic woman who means well for her husband.
Parties later went into a close door meeting which lasted for about 50mins," the statement reads.
Hajia Titi Atiku Abubakar is the one coordinating the women wing of the husband's campaign, especially the South West, to making sure they gather the necessary votes possible in the coming election.
