Merit, magnificence and vibrancy were on Saturday rewarded by the Sultan Bello Hall of the University of Ibadan as the Publisher of Parrot Xtra Magazine,Olayinka Agboola and a number of other individuals were rewarded for their contributions to the development of Nigeria.
The event was the Ivory Tower Awards and Distinguished Lectures with the theme “Nigeria at 58: Prospects Beyond The Golden Jubilee, Place of The Youths”.
The Sultan Bello Dome came alive as the lecturers, Professors Soji Adejumo and Dipo Otolorin as well as Honourable Olasupo Abiodun expounded on the topic.
Agboola, who was a resident of the famous Sultan Bello during his days as a student of the University of Ibadan was given an award as a ‘Worthy Ambassador’ in recognition of his achievements, immense and selfless contributions to Nigeria and humanity.
Agboola was in Bello Hall between 1985 and 1989 while he was a student in the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology.
The list of awardees included Professor L.A Akinbile, Profesor Dipo Otolorin, Professor Soji Adejumo, Professor Idowu Olayinka, Dr. Gbolahan Ogunsanya, Dr. A.O Afolabi, Honourable Olasupo Abiodun, Mr. Ola Oresanya and Mr. Ademola Egbeleke.
