A prominent legal luminary and founder Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Chief Afe Babalola has reaffirmed his stand on restructuring, where he said Nigeria must be restructured before 2019 elections.
He made his stand known again while speaking through his representative at a recently held lecture tagged "National Development, Restructuring and the Yoruba race" in Ibadan.
Where he stated that, nations can only rise, develop politically, socially, economically and technologically through their offsprings.
"I want to believe that restructuring Nigeria is a significant determinant of national and equal development in Nigeria and for the Yoruba race in particular. Several advocates of restructuring had identified different approaches, different styles and even different meanings to the concept."
Speaking further, Afe Babalola said, "Whatever it takes or whatever it is, most of these people are advocating for a return to true federalism. Maybe the earlier the better to save our nation from all factors that seem to threaten the efficiency of our democracy, in order to strengthen our resources and kick start it's wise utilisation thus minimising corruption. It may also bring equal distribution of these resources, fairness, equity and peace in Nigeria. As to the Yoruba race, this is the time to be strongly united in all our social, political and socio-economic activities and endeavours to be relevance and recognise again in Nigeria," he concluded.
