Top human rights activist and the former Attorney-General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Olu Onagoruwa, is dead.
He was said to have died in the early hours of Friday, July 21st, 2017, at age 80.
Onagoruwa was the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice under the military government of Gen. Sani Abacha, in 1993. He was later appointed as the African representative to the body that drafted Ethiopia’s constitution that same year.
He also worked as the Group Legal Adviser/ Company Secretary of Daily Times Nigeria for several years.
At a point, Dr. Onagoruwa suffered a stroke following the brutal killing of his son, who was said to murdered by agents of the military dictator.
He was a legal luminary with an excellent track records and had to his credit several books he authored.
