Tribunal Nullifies Gov. Ishaku's Election.

The election that produced Governor Ishaku of Taraba State has been nullified by the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

Justice Musa Abbakar led tribunal ruled that Senator Aisha Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) should be returned as the validly elected Governor of Taraba State.  

Alhassan, a Minister designate had gone to the Tribunal to challenge Ishaku's victory at the April 11 polls.

While Ishaku is expected to approach the appellant court to challenge the Tribunal's verdict, Alhassan seems to have taken a step closer to becoming Nigeria's first female governor.
