There are strong indications that the number two man of the Nigeria's financial regulatory body, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Adebayo Adelabu might be warming up to participate in Oyo politics. Apart from the fact that he is now being addressed as the incoming governor come 2019 at social functions, some claimed the brilliant banker has been consulting widely underground.
Though he has not at any point in time come out to declare officially whether he is joining politics or not. But some are of the opinion that he's the most suitable to be the next governor due to his credible pedigree, rich C.V and brilliance; he rose through ranks to become Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the First Bank of Nigeria Plc (FBN), before appointed CBN Deputy Governor.
The Deputy Governor, Corporate Services Directorate of CBN, Bayo Adelabu, whose social image has been on the rise, has three things that people believe would work work for him one; he is loveable. He is brilliant and age is still very much on his side (he is 45).
Presently in Ibadan, Bayo Adelabu is one of the respected young successful men around. People always flock around him for one favour or the other.
Bayo Adelabu is the grandchild of late great nationalist/politician, Alhaji Adegoke Adelabu aka 'Penkelemesi'.
