Managing Director of Lekki Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Ltd, Tajudeen Disu has been shot dead today by some aggrieved land owners in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.
The deceased, we gathered had led armed anti-riot policemen to the scene of the incident, to settle crisis which broke out between mobile policemen and the protester villagers of Okunraiye community, Ibeju-Lekki. During which two of the villagers was said to have been shot dead.
The dispute, we gathered, was as a result of the villagers protesting against what they described as “forceful takeover” of their land by the Lagos State Government on behalf of the Africa’s richest industrialist, Aliko Dangote and the Lekki Free Zone Ltd.
Mr. Disu however wasn't so lucky as he was shot by one of the protesters during the escalated crisis.
His body has been deposited at the Lagos State University Hospital for a post-mortem.
Men of the Nigerian army, we heard have since being called upon to restore peace in the area.
