Controversy Trails Celebrity Blogger, Linda Ikeji's Acquisition Of #600m Mansion In Banana Island. +Plus Details Of How She Rakes In Millions.
It has been mixed reactions from different quarters especially the social media, since it was leaked to the general public that Nigeria's top blogger Linda Ikeji is now a landlord at the most expensive estate, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos: making billionaires like Otunba Mike Adenuga, Sayyu Dantata and other high super rich men her neighbours.
While some are congratulating her on the said newly acquired mansion, some are seriously doubting authenticity of Linda's claims. Those in the know revealed that the said property belong to one Mr. Okoli. The issue has raised a kind of serious debate amongst youths on the social media.
Some people privy to her background have also come against Linda's claim of never slept with any man for help or money. They said Linda was not being truthful in that aspect and gave series of her past stories, which of course we might not be able to serve you with the details (that is a story for another day).
But in case you still don't get the scoop, Linda Ikeji's said mansion is not just an ordinary house, it is a well finished high taste building with class. It is a 6 bedrooms and all rooms are with private toilet & bathroom (all en suite). A master bedroom in the penthouse with large terrace on top-most floor of the building. It has 3 living rooms, Swimming Pool, Cinema Room, Kitchen, Laundry room and 3 rooms BQ.
Meanwhile, some people close to Linda have come in her defence and described her actions of showing off the property as not to spring up jealousy or something, but to encourage young ladies out there that they can really work hard and make it on their own without depending on men.
To buttress that point however, an online media did an exclusive breakdown of how Linda makes her cool bucks through ads and other means online.
The research revealed that through Google adsense, Linda Ikeji and bloggers in her bracket (eg. Perez Hilton) typically make $50,000 to $80,000 monthly in income from Google. So that means Linda makes N10 million to N16 million per month in Adsense revenue. Quite a nice chunk of cash from the world’s foremost technology company.
Headline Banners: Linda charges N1 million per month for a 728 by 90 banner ad, the ad that appears around the Welcome To Linda Ikeji Blog place holder when you log on to the site. Jumia has reportedly paid Linda N12 million for the whole year and their banner ad remains on the desktop version of the site 24/7. Occasionally other advertisers also opt for the space and Linda will share the space for two companies. So this year Linda will probably gross a minimum of N18 million from this space.
Side Banners: Linda charges between 500k and 700k per month for side banners and she has a minimum of 6 to 8 advertisers at any given time bringing her earnings to a minimum of N3 million monthly.
Sponsored Posts: Linda reportedly charges 50,000 per sponsored post and she reportedly does about 5 to 10 of these a day which brings her daily potential earnings in this regard to N500k and monthly total to N15 million. Page Takeover: Should you log on to the Linda Ikeji blog on a desktop site now, you will notice an MTN advert in the background. Our sources tell us that cost N4 million per week. So potentially Linda makes N16 million monthly from that space.
On an aggregate Linda can make anywhere from N50 million to N 70 million per month in advert revenue. When you do the calculations that comes to a maximum of about N 840 million per year or almost a billion.
