President Muhammadu Buhari has reinstated his earlier decision to work with the leadership of of the National Assembly as elected by the lawmakers.
According to the statement made available to newsmen today by President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina. The statement reads in part "President Buhari had said in an earlier statement that he did not have any preferred candidate for the Senate and the House of Representatives, and that he was willing to work with whoever the lawmakers elected. That sentiment still stands though he would have preferred the new leaders to have emerged through the process established by the party.”
Both Senator Bukola Saraki (APC) representing Kwara Central Senatorial District and Hon. Yakubu Dogara (APC) representing Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa-Balewa Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, had earlier today emerged Senate President and Speaker House of Reps respectively, at the National Assembly inauguration.
In the same vein, Senator Ike Ekeremadu (PDP), the senator representing Enugu West emerged as the Deputy Senate President for the third time. While Hon. Yussuf Sulaimon Lasu (APC), representing Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo in Osun State is the Deputy Speaker House of Reps.
