Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan, aka Akoro, the executive chairman, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, has been appointed into the board of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NFL).
Akoro's appointment according to a statement by 3SC Spokesperson Tosin Omojola was confirmed via a message by the sectary of the board, Damladi Ibrahim.
The sports administrator cum politician replaces Abdullahi Umar of Doma United FC, who vacated the membership position, following the demotion of the Gombe State based side. Akoro is also a retired referee.
The NPFL Board, while welcoming the 3SC boss, expressed confidence that his vision and expertise will help drive the NPFL to new heights.
The former Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear, with positive impacts on the Nigerian league and football generally.
