Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has felicitated the Muslim  Ummah in the State and across the world on the occasion of the Eid-il-Kabir celebration, admonishing them to continue to keep adhering to the teachings of love, sacrifice and perseverance, which the  festival exemplifies. Governor Makinde, in a Sallah Message made public and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, noted that the “Festival of Sacrifice" known as Eid-el-Kabir, presents an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on the faith with which Prophet Ibrahiûm (Abraham) willingly agreed to sacrifice his son, in obedience to the command of the Almighty Allah. Federal House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Affairs, says effective partnership of all tiers of governments, especially Wives of State Governors and other relevant stakeholders will enhance Nigeria’s fight against human trafficking in the country. The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. (Mrs) Tolulope Akande-Sadipe K, made this known today in an interview with newsmen, as part of activities marking the 2020 World Day Against Trafficking Persons. Akande Sadipe, expressed worry over the high-level of trafficking, inviting, Wives of Governors in the country to rise against this and other vices against females. "This is another form of violence against women", she said. “The best way to eradicate this evil among us is to work in unity.
