Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will on Friday, February 1, 2019 organized a programme tagged APC Youth Connect. The spokesperson of the Oyo 2019 APC Campaign Organisation, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde said that the programme which is also known as Next Level Dance Party will be a platform for the youth to interact with APC candidates in the state. Dr Olatunde said that the programme will hold between 4pm and 10pm at the Agodi Garden, Ibadan, stressing that maximum security is guaranteed. Fresh facts have emerged on a purported fake resignation letter in the circulation, said to have been signed by the former Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Obong  Isima Ekere. In the said letter, Ekere was said to had advised the Presidency not to appoint another MD for the commission from Akwa Ibom state, since the zone has served for four years. The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has unanimously strucked out Eleka's case and declared Fayemi as the duly elected governor of Ekiti State. The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, describing it as a “brazen dictatorial act”. Atiku also described it as the “latest action in the ongoing rape of our nation’s hard-earned democracy”.  The President had announced Justice Onnoghen’s suspension, pending the outcome of the Code of Conduct Tribunal’s case against him. A group, Credible Elections Watch, has expressed concerns over what it called the unprofessional activities of the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Mike Igini. The group through its leader, Moses Etim, in a statement, said that for the forthcoming elections to be credible in the state, the umpire, which is the Independent National Electoral Commissioner (INEC) must be neutral. In a statement issued in Uyo yesterday, Etim maintained that people of the state, including the opposition parties do not have confidence in Mr Igini and do not think that with his activities, he could preside over free and fair polls. He alleged that Mr Igini’s recent activities are indicative that he may be supporting a particular party to the detriment of others in the state. “Only recently, Mr Igini made some changes which were not only unnecessary but capable of derailing the process in the state.
