Former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala has been picked as the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) ahead of the 2019 election. In press release made available to journalists in Ibadan on Sunday, Jeremiah Akande, Head, New Media and Public Affairs/Alao-Akala Campaign Organisation enjoined all faithful and loyal supporters of Alao-Akala to collapse all structures and groups within the Alao-Akala political family into the Action Democratic Party (A.D.P) with immediate effect.  It would be recalled that Akala pulled out of the last Sunday APC's gubernatorial primaries which produced a former Deputy Governor of CBN, Chief Bayo Adelabu as its standard bearer. Akala had accused Ajimobi of imposing Joseph Tegbe on the delegates.
