Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Wednesday arrested four intending pilgrims as they prepared to consume wraps of cocaine before takeoff In a statement released in Abuja on Thursday, Director of Media and Advocacy for the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, described how the arrest came about, stating that its agents had searched the Emerald Hotel in the Ladipo neighborhood of Oshodi, Lagos State, where some of the intended pilgrims were staying. Ayinla Kemi, 34, Usman Kamorudeen, 31, Olasunkanmi Owolabi, 46, and Fatai Yekini, 38, are among the people detained during the intelligence-led operation. When NDLEA agents raided the four suspects' rooms, they were holed up in two rooms of the hotel, where they had prepared 200 kg of cocaine pellets for ingestion.
