JUST IN: Former Oyo Assembly Lawmaker Dies

A former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Tirimisiyu Olasupo Okunola, is dead. The former lawmaker's death was announced by his younger brother, Alhaji Bashir Okunola on his Facebook page Sunday morning. Although the cause of his death could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, a source informed that the politician had been battling with diabetes before his demise. Hon. Okunola represented Ido constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011. He was elected into the Assembly on the platform of the All Nigeria People's Party, ANPP, but later defected to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Breaking the sad news, the deceased's younger brother wrore on his Facebook page: "Haaaaa egbon why why now you left us so soon. Hon Tirimisiyu olasupo Okunola".

The governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has laid bare to the insinuation on whether or not, he really worked against the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the last election. Admitting his involvement in PDP failure in the Saturday's presidential election in the state, Makinde said his decision was hinged on the arrogance tendencies of the National leadership of his party. He made this revelations while featuring on a popular radio program, State Affairs on Splash 105.5, Ibadan last week Saturday. The program, anchored by the seasoned broadcaster, Edmund Obilo, availed the governor of the opportunity of barring his mind on what really transpired between his group, the G5 governors and the leadership of PDP. When asked who he voted for in the election, largely won by the main opposition party in the state, APC, the governor didn't mince words in explaining his role. "I supported fairness, justice and equity," he
