Olafare: Osun PDP Condoles With Ife People

The Osun State Peoples Democratic Party condoles with the entire people of Ife Federal Constituency of Osun East Senatorial district over the death of a very sagacious, distinguished powerful and intelligently inclined politician this evening.

According to a release signed by the State chairman of the party, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo and made available to newsmen, "Alhaji Fasasi Olafare, a.k.a. Atofeeru has bid the world good bye. Alhaji Atofeeru was the local government Chairman of Ife Central for many years before he later willingly resigned and was made the Senatorial leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun East Senatorial district.

Adagunodo further described the deceased during his hay days as a powerful politician, between 2003 and 2011 that he was virtually in charge of all affairs of Ife land and beyond.

Adagunodo expressed regret that "a big vacuum has been created by Baba Atofeeru's exit which will be difficult to fill."

"The political sagacity of Baba Atoo, as he was popularly called by his admirers,  placed him above his peers during the reign of late  Alhaji Ademola Rasaq as the State Chairman of PDP to the extent that few issues were settled without his input even in the other Senatorial Districts of the State."

Alhaji Atofeeru was a confidant of Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Erelu Olusola Obada during their tenure as Governor and Deputy Governor respectively and they left virtually all political issues in his hands to settle and Baba never disappointed his party and leaders who assigned him throughout his tenure."

Alhaji Atofeeru was also very close to the immediate past Oonirisa His Imperial Majesty, Oba Okunade Sijuade during his lifetime and they lived enviable leadership of Ife politics with decency and dignity,

Alhaji Atofeeru was a great manager of men and his management skills of knotty issues within and outside Ife territory earned him the appellation of ATOFEERU, *eni ti o to Ife'ru,* meaning the one who was capable of carrying (the burden of) Ife."

Adagunodo however prayed to God to give the family and Ife people, especially, our baba, Oonirisa, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 2, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss caused be the exit of the political giant.

Alhaji Fasasi Olafare Atofeeru was survived by children, grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Its also explains reasons for the many real estate projects (both completed and ongoing) all over the place. There are developments and construction almost everywhere in Ib
