Ajimobi's Coming As Governor Is An Abberation- Alao-Akala

Gubernatorial flag bearer of Action Democratic Party in Oyo State and former Governor of the state between 2007-2011, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala has described the coming of Sen. Abiola Ajimobi as Governor of Oyo State as an abberation that should not have taken place in the first instance.

Otunba Alao-Akala said  this while taking a critical assessment of the administration of the APC Government of Sen. Ajimobi while participating on a live interactive radio programme on Gravity FM, Igboho today.

According to the former Governor, who is presently on a campaign tour of Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State and terribly disappointed in the outgoing administration of Ajimobi which he described as total failure, a collosal waste of time, money, resources and a disastrous 8 years with nothing tangible to show as achievement or benefit to the people of Oyo State.

"As I speak with you right now, my heart bleeds, I feel so bad that we have have been set back by eight years of our lives by the government of Ajimobi.

This is not the Oke-Ogun that I handed over to him when I stepped aside eight years ago.

All the roads I constructed, not a single kilometer has been added to it, even the ones I constructed are not being maintained.

They have all collapsed and in terrible shape.

I came in here through Sepeteri, the road is an eye sore.

I wonder what the man has been doing for the past eight years.

Equipments for the take off of the Television station at Oje Owode were on ground and ready for installation when I was going on sabbatical leave, as I speak with you now, those equipments have been moved to Ibadan.

The buildings have been taken over by weed and other dangerous animals.

Getting to the place today ,the buildings are caving in.

If not for the initiative of the proprietor of Gravity FM, you people would have gone back to the dark era when you listen to Cotonou radio or Ilorin FM because even the Oke-Ogun FM at Alaga is in comatose.

Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State is in ruins and a terrible state of disrepair.

Oyo State has been canibalised but I can assure you better days are ahead by God's grace.

This was not my plan for the my people in Oke-Ogun and even the state at large, we ran a Government that had the interest in human capital development and we have series of projects to show for it.

And that is why I am bold and confident come to you to seek your support and your votes to Govern oyo state again.

I challenge Ajimobi to publish in major newspaper list of his achievements in the last eight years then the people of Oyo state can be the judge."

Reeling out some of his achievements during his first term as Governor, Otunba Alao-Akala said he constructed Alaga to shaki road terminating at the entrance to Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki to Ilesha Baruba road, Otu-IgboJaiye - Komu -  Baba ode Road down to Ilero.

So also is the road from Iganna - Ayegun after Iwere Ile down to the Border between Nigeria and Benin Republic before Ijio town.

Otunba Alao-Akala stated categorically that he is the only Governor ever in the history of OYO state that has ever visited Okerete town in Oke-Ogun area of OYO state which is 91 kilometers from Saki town.

He went further that as part of his achievements during his first term, he directed that a school be established in the town because to put a stop to children from the town crossing the border to Benin Republic to attend school and that he made sure teacher were posted to the school with extra incentives to make pay attention to the students.

Asked to give an assessment of Governor Ajimobi's administration in the last 8 years as it prepares to wind up Otunba Alao-Akala stated pointedly that it was a failure in all aspects as it has practically nothing to showcase as it's achievements.

According to him, "in the areas of education, it is zero, all higher institutions in the state are on strike.

The state government is owing them 25 month's salary.

Even, the primary and secondary schools are in total disrepair.

All sorts of levies are been imposed on parents and still there is nothing to show for it.

Ibadan to Eruwa is bad, Ibadan to Oyo-Ogbomoso road is bad, Ibadan to Iseyin road is in a terrible state.

Our internal roads were recently patched because the vice president was coming to visit the state, that a big shame.

Nothing on agriculture, Adeoyo hospital that I renovated is now a shadow of itself.

Everything about OYO state is upside down.

Ajimobi has destroyed the system.

In short, his coming was a terrible mistake and an abberation that should not have been allowed to happen," he declared.

Meet Ibadan's 10 Big Real Estate Players

The real estate sector in Oyo State, especially Ibadan, the capital city, is currently experiencing what could best be described as a mega boom. Thanks to the few investors who saw the vision years back and keyed into it by contributing their quotas to the development of the sector. Kudos also to the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration in the state for creating an enabling environment (the successive governments couldn't be excused from the success story too). Not only has Makinde's administration created an enabling environment, it has introduced some investors-friendly policies, and as well undertook partnerships that had really helped in bringing about the unprecedented developments in the sector. This has also created room for options for those who are interested in both luxury and low cost estates. Its also explains reasons for the many real estate projects (both completed and ongoing) all over the place. There are developments and construction almost everywhere in Ib
