Alaafin's Daughter, Sade Adeyemi Wins NIGMA Award

For her immense contributions to the development and propagation of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Princess Folasade Adeyemi was among the eminent personalities honoured at this year (2016)'s edition of Nigerian Meritorious Award (NIGMA), held on Sunday 9th October, 2016, at Bespoke Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos.

According to the organisers of the award, The NIGMA is an award to acknowledge the accomplishments of Nigerians both at home and in diaspora. It is presented to Nigerians that show the greatest promise of contribution to human well-being, through the creation and application of their activities, intellect and knowledge.

The award also deems to encourage and support these citizens in their efforts and to showcase their impact on their communities on the local, national and international levels.

Folasade, CEO, Arewa House of Culture and the Cultural Consultant to Alaafin of Oyo, has taken promotion of arts & culture to the next level by using her connections to the maximum advantage of the cause she believes so much in (Yoruba tradition and culture). Sha has taken the trend to the Republic of Benin, USA, Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil and many other parts of the world.

In fact, she just returned back to the country from South Africa where she was hosted by 'Egbe Omo Yoruba in Diaspora' South Africa Chapter.
