The Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, Ilufemiloye Telu 1, has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he is here to make a positive change in his community and the State of Osun generally. His actions since he ascended his forefathers' throne point towards that direction.
He did it again on Thursday 22nd Sep., 2016, as he paid a visit to Nigerian Prisons Service, Ilesha with donation of Cash, Cow and Food Stuff.
Not only that, several criminals with bailable offences who had been held for ten years or more for failure to meet up with bail fines proffered on them by courts also regained their freedom through Oluwo's benevolence. As he funded their bail.
Oluwo, who said his visit was a way of identifying with the inmates to give them hope and reasons to believe their lives could still serve good purposes and contribute to the development of the society, however appealed to the state Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele-Ojo, to look into the cases of those awaiting trial, many of whom had spent more than necessary years behind bars.
He as well used the opportunity to call on the state government to rehabilitate the prison facilities which was built in 1900.
Oluwo also appealed to the general public to desist from stigmatising ex-convicts.
