Abubakar Audu's Death Positions Tinubu's Man, Abiodun Falake As Kogi Governor.

With the look of things and as constitution required that Deputy should step in as governorship candidate in a case like this as presently being witnessed in Kogi State, with the sudden death of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Abubakar Audu.

Though the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), through its returning officer, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha, Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, had declared Satuday 21 November, 2015, Kogi election inconclusive. As elections in 91 units of 18 Local Government areas across the state were cancelled due to some irregularities that occurred.

In the results released so far, late Abubakar Audu of APC scored 240,867 while his opponent from PDP Idris Wada polled 199,514. Which clearly shows that APC candidate is leading by 41,353 votes.

The total number of registered voters in the 91 polling units, which results were cancelled is 49,953. Out of which only about 25,000 have PVCS according to investigations.

Based on the above analyses, when the elections are concluded, it means that APC would still maintain its position as the winner of the overall election.

However, one man who stands to benefit from all these is no other person than the Deputy governorship candidate of the APC, Hon. Abiodun Faleke. Who is believed to be one of the strong loyalists of APC's National Leader, Asiwaju Ahmmed Tinubu. In fact, some believed Faleke's becoming the Deputy governorship candidate was unconnected with Tinubu's influence in the party. Having cut his political teeth in Lagos and so served in different capacities in the same state.

Abiodun Faleke is from Okun area of Kogi State. He had served as two-term chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area. He is a second-term member of the House of Representatives, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos.

When he was Local Government Chairman in Lagos, Faleke was the Chairman of Forum 57, a forum of LGA and LCDA bosses in Lagos State.
