The Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting Rivers State has nullified the election of Governor Nyesom Wike and ordered fresh elections to take place within 90 days.
The Justice Ambusa led Tribunal held that the election conducted on April 11th 2015 which brought Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to power was substantially flawed as it was marred by violence.
You will recall that the former governor of the state, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi had gone on air to state that the election was flawed. “What took place here cannot be called an election”, Amaechi said on election day.
