The drama and deceit in the country's political system will never cease to unfold. As National leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has come to denied claims of leader of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, Chief Olabode George.
Bode George, in an interview with a leading Nigerian newspaper, said that though Bola Tinubu was behind his incarceration but had since apologised to him at the burial of the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Late Alhaji Abdulazees Arisekola Alao, in Ibadan.
But in a swift reaction, Bola Tinubu, through his media adviser, Sunday Dare had denied ever apologised to Bode George since he had no hand in his (George) imprisonment.
The statement went further to say that Tinubu couldn't have be involved in Bode George's incarceration since it was the Federal Government that instituted the case against him.
That George and Tinubu truly met at Arisekola's burial in Ibadan but what transpired between them has absolutely nothing to do with apology.
Tinubu, in the statement, explained that it was top celebrities like Oba Otudeko and Gov. Ajimobi at the burial who pleaded with him to greet Bode George in respect to the man they were gathered to honour. Because he (Tinubu) didn't greet George initially.
And that all he said was "good afternoon egbon".
