Despite the fact that the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP)'s presidential candidate, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and top members of the party have been congratulating Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress APC) since yesterday when it became obvious that he was going to be declared the winner, having leading with clear margin in the polls, PDP has said it will challenge the outcome of the final results at the Tribunal.
This was disclosed this morning few minutes after Chairman, Independent Electoral Commission, Prof. Attairu Jega, as the returning officer of the 2015 presidential polls, officially declared Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), as the winner of the polls, at about 3.44 a.m this morning. As PDP agent, Bello Fadile refused to sign the result sheet, like other party agents did.
But later addressed journalists later that it doesn't matter whether he signs the result sheet or not, that the PDP will follow due process by challenge the outcome of the election at the tribunal.
Recall that earlier during the proceedings of the collation of results, one of PDP agents, to register his grievance, Godsday Orubebe created a dramatic scene at the National Conference Centre, Abuja venue of the collation centre. Where he disrupted the process for more than 40 minutes, calling the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attairu Jega, all kinds of unprintable names, before he finally left in anger.
